GENERAL STATEMENT:

Information on Recruitment Fraud

Vulcan has become aware of potential applicants being the subject of recruitment scams in which a perpetrator falsely claims to represent Vulcan Materials Company and/or its affiliates (“Vulcan”) in extending job opportunities.

Vulcan is dedicated to the privacy of all potential applicants and seeks to avoid and prevent its potential job applicants from becoming victims of recruitment scams.

Recruitment fraud is a sophisticated scam involving the offer of false job opportunities to job seekers. This type of fraud is typically carried out online through fake websites or unsolicited emails claiming to have come from a trusted company.

The aim of the fraud is to obtain personal information, money, or both. The fraudsters often request recipients to provide sensitive PII and/or to make payments as part of their fake recruiting process. Vulcan will only ask for sensitive PII during the “new hire” onboarding process, which only occurs after an offer of employment has been accepted (following an in-person interview at a physical Vulcan location).  Vulcan also does not seek a financial commitment or contribution (e.g., the cost of travel arrangements) during any stage of recruiting).

Vulcan has no responsibility for fraudulent employment offers and strongly recommends those interested in employment opportunities at Vulcan follow these tips to avoid being subjected to such scams.

• As Vulcan only accepts applications for employment through our website at https://www.vulcanmaterials.com/careers, only submit an application for employment through Vulcan’s Careers page.
• Do not respond to or forward purported Vulcan communications that involve solicitation of financial or personal information early in the recruiting process.
• Do not transmit any financial payment for the purpose of being employed by Vulcan.
• Do not complete any purported Vulcan forms that are not found on Vulcan’s Careers page, such as visa or terms and conditions of employment forms.
• Do not respond to any purported Vulcan job communication that is from free web-based email accounts such as Yahoo, Gmail or Live.com.
• Never transmit sensitive PII for Vulcan employment by any alternate electronic means (e.g., email) or via regular mail.
• Be wary of purported Vulcan job communications that insist on urgency.
• Be on alert and stop communicating with a fraudulent recruiter that extends a false promise to reimburse travel expenses or solicit a financial commitment or contribution (e.g., office supplies, computer equipment, etc.)
